Why Did They Make the Great Wall of China?

The Great Wall of China is one of the most iconic structures in world history and is considered one of the greatest engineering feats of all time. It stretches more than 13,000 miles, and its construction began as far back as the 7th century BC. But why did the Chinese build this massive wall?

The primary reason for constructing the Great Wall of China was to protect the Chinese Empire from its many enemies. During the 7th century BC, China was divided into many different states and constantly at war. The building of the Great Wall was meant to provide a physical barrier to protect China from its enemies, including the Mongols and the Manchus.

The Great Wall of China also served as a symbol of the Chinese empire’s power and strength. It reminded its enemies that the Chinese were a powerful force to be reckoned with. In addition, the wall served as a way to control migration and trade within the region. It acted as a barrier between different areas and helped to regulate the movement of goods and people.

The Great Wall of China was a costly undertaking and required a tremendous amount of manpower and resources. Construction of the wall began during the Qin Dynasty and continued for centuries
